Christmas is coming! Christmas is coming!

 Hello friends,

In case you missed my previous announcement... CHRISTMAS IS COMING. (Here's a cozy Christmas playlist to get you started in the celebration!) As the coziest holiday, Christmas is a pleasant time for knitters! For this blog post I've compiled a list of knitting projects that your friends and family would actually want to receive as a Christmas present! At the top of the list are the easiest projects (perfect for beginners) and at the bottom list are the more difficult projects.

Without further ado... let's get started!

1. Scarves (Easy)

Scarves can make the perfect stocking stuffer for a family in a crisp location. Scarves can be made quickly with thick yarn and can be personalized to match the future wearer's favorite colors! For the men in my life, I like to make scarves that use the colors of their favorite sports team.

2. Hats (Easy/Intermediate)

Hats are a wonderful Christmas gift that can be used all winter long. Hats are a classic staple and can be very quick to make! Typically hat patterns will require "Knitting in the round" with circular knitting needles. If this is new to you, go on a practice run before making your official gift products.

3. Socks (Intermediate)

Socks are another classic staple that can make a lovely Christmas gift! Socks are small and can be made quickly with few resources. You will need to knit in the round for most sock patterns!

4. Blankets (Easy/Time Consuming!)

Blankets are relatively easy to make if you find the right pattern, but they can take much longer than scarves, hats, and socks to make. Plan ahead if you want to truly have their gift ready on Christmas day!

5. Cardigan/Sweaters (Intermediate/Difficult)

Cardigans and Sweaters can make for a thoughtful, personalized gift. If you are experienced, a cardigan or sweater can be a wonderful way to show just how much effort a person is worth! These projects are a labor of love and can be extremely time consuming as well as difficult for intermediate/beginner knitters. Best to start these well in advance and buy plenty of extra yarn!

Sincerely,

Elizabeth
