A Knitting Resolution: Temperature Blanket

 HAPPY NEW YEAR!

2020 was a whirlwind. We can joke about all the bad things, but this past year has been tough. For Troy and I, this year has been a year full of change. We moved, got new jobs, and adjusted to pandemic life.

One project that helped make this year more fulfilling was the Temperature Blanket!

This project is simple, but leaves you with a beautiful end result.

Temperature Blanket Pattern

Materials:

Size 8 (5mm) Needles
9 Different Colors of Yarn (I used white, light blue, dark blue, teal, dark green, orange, red, purple, and black!)

Color Key:

Less than 32 Degrees: White
28-32 Degrees: Light Blue
33-43 Degrees: Dark Blue
44-53 Degrees: Teal
54-66 Degrees: Dark Green
67-77 Degrees: Orange
78-88 Degrees: Red
89-100 Degrees: Purple
More than 100 Degrees: Black

Pattern:

Since this is a long term project, I chose not to complicate my pattern. For this I set up a notebook to keep track of each day's temperature and knit one row for each color.

Cast on 100-200 stitches and knit away!

Final Tips:

Here is a picture of my temperature chart: I used a bullet journal format and wrote my color key at the bottom.

Instead of knitting this blanket all in one piece, I chose to stop halfway and sew the two parts together.

Make sure to keep organized!

Thank you and good luck!
