Hello and Welcome to Knitting with Liz!

Today I am sharing with you the pattern for a Rib Stitch Scarf. This is a great scarf for beginners who have mastered the basic scarf (garter stitch) and are looking to spice up their simple pattern. It's sister scarf is the seed scarf, so check out that post before you get started to see which project you would rather begin.
Without further ado...
The rib stitch is a beautiful stitch that provides stretch for the person wearing it! It has distinct, visible rows that give it structure and that define the ribbed stitch look.
Rib Stitch Scarf Pattern
Materials: for the scarf pictured above I used Red Heart Hygge Yarn in sterling with Size 10 (6mm) knitting needles.
Cast on 20 stitches (or to your desired width). It is important to cast on an even number of stitches for this pattern.
Row 1: Begin alternating between the knit stitch and the purl stitch (KPx10).
Row 2: Repeat.
Knit to your desired length and enjoy your comfy scarf!
Note: if you accidentally cast on an odd number of stitches then you will end up knitting a seed stitch instead of a rib knit scarf. You will be able to see defined rows and work with those as you go!
